How One Shipment of Furniture Supported Nine Nonprofits

Updated: May 9, 2019

When major companies decide to remodel their office buildings, it begs the question, "Where does all of that furniture go?" Well, there are two options: either the contents of the gutted office can go directly to the dump, or those contents can be donated. For one Charlotte office remodel, Green Standards was able to facilitate the removal and transportation of the furniture, and after partnering with Restore Global, we were able to obtain the contents of the entire office floor. With that volume of furniture, we've had the ability to help nonprofits all over North Carolina furnish their offices while alleviating the stress of a limited budget.

To put it numerically, we were able to redeploy 18 bookshelves, 32 cabinets, 6 chairs, 10 tables, 21 desks, 2 garbage cans (yes, those are important too), and 1 stool to nonprofits like HOLLA!, Lorien Academy of the Arts, Freedom School Partners, Business 911, The Learning Collaborative, Recovery Ventures Corp., Camp Lurecrest Ministries, Christian Adoption Services, and Carolina Waterfowl Rescue. That's a total of 88 pieces of furniture!

"Thanks to Restore Global, we were able to furnish our remote office for a fraction of the retail cost. The desks and chairs we received were great quality, and Restore Global made it easy for us to pick up our items." - Freedom School Partners

Our team is thrilled to see so many nonprofits benefit from the simple choice to donate/recycle instead of dump. It wouldn't have been possible without Green Standards and our wonderful partners, so we thank you!
