We Only Thought We Were Full...

Updated: Nov 19, 2019

Today I stepped into one of our office spaces to admire our picture wall - a wall filled with pictures of the early Restore Global days. I noticed scattered pictures of the first big shipment we ever received at our current warehouse location. We received that shipment during last year's Hurricane Florence, and because we were able to account for and ensure the successful delivery of every item that we redeployed, we became nationally recognized. From there, our growth and name skyrocketed forward.

Looking back at the warehouse a year ago, it's hard to imagine that kind of emptiness today. Our growth happened so rapidly that in less than a year, our concept of a full warehouse is drastically different. Some days, we welcome challenges that exceed the manpower of a team of seven, but here at Restore Global, we are scrappy, efficient, and we NEVER turn down a challenge. We choose these long and sweaty days because we want to change lives. If we continue to remove resource barriers for our local nonprofits, then we can continue to impact our community. As fast as this warehouse fills, it empties. We strive to accept and move ALL types of gift-in-kind so that ALL of our partners have access to the resources they need. This is only the beginning for us, and we can't wait to see what our warehouse looks like a year from now.
